Seattle Seahawks sources reported that the club has placed left tackle Russell Okung on Injured Reserve and signed guard Mike Gibson.

Okung was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and started all 12 games at left tackle for the Seahawks this season. Head coach Pete Carroll reported his starting left tackle was injured late in the game when he was thrown down after the whistle against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.

Gibson went to training camp with the Seahawks in 2011 before being released on September 3. He has played in 17 career games (all with Seattle). Last season, Gibson started eight games for the Seahawks (five at left guard, three a right guard).

The Seahawks also signed linebacker Keith Darbut and running back Jay Finley to the practice squad.
